Preseason is done and dusted in Portugal… just about, so how does our Football Manager newcomer plan his season ahead and what’s impacting those decisions?
Shane’s missing from the studio this week as he gets stuck into a stage production so it’s over to Ken and Robbie for a walk through pre-season in Portugal. With the pace starting to pick up a little bit, Robbie’s getting his first experience of match times and the match day experience in Football Manager – that means tactical decisions, scoring goals (and conceding them) and welcoming the mighty PSG to town – not a bad way to spend your first game day experience.
For Ken, there are preseason games against Benfica B, Getafe and Marseille where there’s plenty of goals to score but enough to concede as well as he develops an attacking outlook for Benfica.
When it comes to a transfer policy for the season, Robbie’s got a simple take on things – don’t buy anyone. Whether that’s a case of having to make do or there’s another plan at play remains to be seen.
We’ve got a roundup of what’s been happening in the community, we take a look at some pre-season scouting and more besides.
